Winter 2007
West Michigan Event Outfitters LLC’s float titled “Over the river and though the woods” was awarded the first place award for design into the first annual Christmas Illuminated Parade sponsored by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
The float used over 2,500 lights to show a horse pulling a sleigh loaded with gifts through a glistening forest of snow covered trees. The title was taken from the children’s Christmas song about traveling by horse pulled sleigh to visit Grandmother’s house for Christmas.

Fall 2007 West Michigan Event Moves to Larger Quarters
It's good news whenever a business expands and has to move to larger quarters in order to serve their customers. It's bad news when they have to face the reality of packing up everything and transporting it to their new digs. After two months of preparation and three weeks of moving we are finally up and running at our new location at 26 E. Main.
Jim, who operates the business with his wife, Sherri, said, "You would think that moving only two doors further west would be a breeze but it really turned out to be a case study in Murphy's Law! Also, the weather didn't cooperate and the remodeling of our storefront has to be postponed until Spring. "Sherri added, " But we're in now and we have finally unpacked the last box. Our new store is much bigger and the showroom space is equal in size to our entire old building."
West Michigan Event is looking forward to expanding their offerings and being able to increase their reputation as a "one-stop-shopping" destination for all things party and event related.
Spring 2007, West Michigan Event Awarded 1st Prize!
West Michigan Event Outfitters was awarded the 1st Prize ribbon for the best designed booth at the annual Chamber of Commerce Community Business Expo. The award is given to the business that utilizes its booth space to represent its offerings in the most professional and aesthetically pleasing manner.
"The room where we were had very high ceilings allowing us to erect one of our small canopies and to employ a variety of lighting effects to show our spring and summer outdoor event equipment in a great way!" said WMEO's owner, Jim. "Partnering with our sister business, Celebration Floral, allowed us to dress in tuxedos and add great floral highlights to our booth display."
Sherri added, "Our first year, we took second prize and really decided to create a first-class display this year. Custom hall and event decorating is one of the newest services added to our growing list of party and event coordinating. This was a chance to show off our abilities in a local venue where this type of service has never been offered before."
Summer 2006, West Michigan Event Expands Storage!
The owners are excited to announce the completion of the installation of a high density storage system in our warehouse. This is the second phase of investment in a long range plan to better utilize their warehouse space. It represents a substantial investment in infrastructure that will make the company better able to respond to the needs of its customers.
"It's sort of like buying new underwear," said Jim, who owns the companies along with his partner and wife, Sherri. "You don't look any prettier for your investment, but things sure are held together a lot more solidly."
For the uninitiated, a high density storage is a system of moveable shelving units on tracks installed on the floor. The shelving units roll together allowing an additional 50% more storage in the same footprint as conventional shelving. When something is needed from a shelf in the middle, the units roll apart to create an aisle way between the shelving units.
